REGISTRATION PACKAGES

WYD08 is pleased to release the registration package pricing details for World Youth Day Sydney 2008.

In developing our pricing packages much work has been undertaken to explore the possibility of relieving the financial burden on pilgrims, particularly those from developing nations.

WYD08 has developed three separate pricing packages:

	Package A
	Package B
	Package C

The details of the inclusions of each package are set out in Table 1 below.

You will need to select the package that best suits your needs then work out the price applicable to your country for that package using the information in Table 2 below.

Note: Health cover is for emergency medical treatment and repatriation to home country. It will cover the package period plus the three days immediately before and after the package period provided that the travel from/to the home country is direct to/from Sydney .

Country classifications

The pricing structure ensures that pilgrims from more affluent nations, including Australian pilgrims, share in a reasonable part of the costs of WYD08 and support pilgrims from less affluent nations. USA IS GROUP ONE AND COSTS ABOUT $265 USD.

Package prices have been based on the relative gross national income per capita of each country, as determined by the World Bank (a United Nations specialised agency). So the way your country has been classified by the World Bank will determine the price you will pay for the registration package you select.

Country classifications have been created based on information published by the World Bank in its - World Bank list of economies (July 2006). You can see the UN/World Bank source list of countries with their classifications here .

What if my country is not listed in the Country Classifications?

Not every country has been listed in the list of country classifications. If your country does not appear, please contact us for confirmation of the pricing which applies to your country at feedback@wyd2008.org

What price will I pay for the package I select?

The price for each package is set out in Table 2 below.

Packages will be offered in Australian dollars and will need to be paid in Australian dollars. Use this currency converter to check prices in your own currency.

What principles have been applied when developing the pricing packages?

In developing our pricing packages the following principles have been applied:

	*A higher contribution will be made by pilgrims from the higher income nations**
	*There will be significant price reductions for pilgrims from low income countries**
	We have attempted to ensure that pilgrims from lower middle income countries contribute no more than they were asked to contribute in 2005
	Visas for registered WYD08 pilgrims will be free of Government charges to all registered WYD08 pilgrims and there will be no visa quota applied to any country

The Clarion Southern Cross Suites at Darling Harbour .

The hotel is situated right by Darling Harbour . It features regular rooms as well as two bedroom suites with two bathrooms. All rooms have full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, sink.
The rooms are spacious with living room space as well. There is a heated pool on the roof which you can use. It is open all year. A continental breakfast is delivered to your room each morning. There is coffee and tea in your room at all times.

The Rasa Shangri La Hotel on Sentosa Island .

The five star hotel is located on Sentosa Island in Singapore . It is located directly on the South China Sea . Full Breakfast and dinner are included.

TYPICAL PROGRAM [OTHERS CAN BE ARRANGED]

July 10: Depart New York with Singapore Airlines. Layover in Singapore with sightseeing. Arrival in Sydney on the 13^th of July.

July 13: Check in and rest at hotel Southern Cross Darling Harbour. Rooms at quad occupancy. Rest day.

July 14: City Tour. Free time. Dinner cruise of Sydney Harbour leaving from Darling Harbour this evening.

July 15-19: WYD programs, culminating in the Vigil on the field. The field is at Randwick Racecourse, which is about 5.5 miles from our hotel.

July 20: After the Mass, return to the hotel for rest and relaxation. Special Dinner Barbeque this evening on boat docked at Darling Harbour .

July 21: Depart for Singapore . Check into the Shangri La Hotel on Sentosa Island . All activities and breakfast and dinner included. If you wish, we include visit to Underwater World, which is located outside our hotel.

July 22: Free day and beach activities. Depart the evening of the 23rd. [ 11:30 pm ] for New York . Arrive on the 24th. at 10:30 am .
